History:
Dating from the 16th Century The Swan was originally a drinking parlour, but soon developed into the Towns principal Post House and Coaching Inn. In the early 19th Century there was a daily Post Coach from The Swan to London, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday a Post Coach en route from Oxford to Cambridge stopped, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Post Coach from Cambridge to Oxford stopped.
