  30. 1571 Anthony Sclater. His marriage is recorded in the Parish Registers 20th January 1574. He died in 1624 and was succeeded by his son (see also Antony Sclater's will).
  31. 1624 Christopher Sclater, M.A. - Instituted Vicar 19th February 1624. He died 1642. A petition from local inhabitants shows that he was not popular, being described as 'a promoter of superstitious innovations and of a scandalous life', and as a result they employed a lecturer called Samuel Fisher for their better instruction.
