- 1571 Anthony Sclater. His marriage is recorded in the
Parish Registers 20th January 1574. He died in 1624 and was succeeded
by his son (see also Antony Sclater's
will).
- 1624 Christopher Sclater, M.A. - Instituted Vicar 19th February 1624.
He died 1642. A petition from local inhabitants shows that he
was not popular, being described as 'a promoter of superstitious
innovations and of a scandalous life', and as a result they employed
a lecturer called Samuel Fisher for their better instruction.
