In the Name of God Amen I Henry Gurney of Linslad
in the County of Buck[ingham] being indifferent well in health
of Body and of perfect sence and memory thanks be to God therefore
and considering the uncertainty of this life and the certainty
of death and desiring to settle things in order doe therefore make
and ordeyne this my last Will and Testament in writing in manner
following First and principally and above all Earthly things I
yeild my soul to God that made it trusting in and through the death
and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and
free pardon and forgiveness of all my sinns and to enjoy life Everlasting
with the elect and chosen people of God in the Kingdom of Heaven
And for the Worldly Estate as the Lord of his mercies hath lent
me I give and bequeath the same as followeth and for my body to
be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter
named Item I give and bequeath unto Joseph Gurney my sonne the
summe of tenn shillings Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Cresey
my Daughter the Wife of Simon Cresey my sonn in Law the summe of
tenn shillings of lawfull money of England having already given
her a porc[i]on at her Marriage or since Item I give and bequeath
unto Sarah Monnk my Daughter the Wife of Joseph Monnk the like
sume of tenn shillings of lawfull money of England Item I give
and bequeath unto Anne Gurney my Daughter the summe of one hundred
pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to her within one
Month next after her day of marriage Item I give and bequeath unto
Susannah Gurney my Daughter the like summe of one hundred pounds
of lawfull money of England to be paid to her within one Month
next after her day of Marriage Item I give and bequeath unto John
Gurney my servant the summe of twenty shillings to be paid within
one yeare next after my decease he being my Kinsman Item I give
& bequeath unto Henry Gurney my Kinsman brother of the said John
Gurney twenty shillings to be paid to him within one yeare \next/
after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto Mary Gurney my Kinswoman
sister of the said John and Henry Gurney the like summe of
twenty shillings to be paid to her within one yeare next after
my decease Item I make and ordeyne Mary my deare and well beloved
wife sole & whole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
chargeing of her to pay my said Legacies and due debts and I doe
give and bequeath unto her all and singuler the rest and residue
of my goods and chattells not herein before bequeathed and I doe
hereby revoake and make voyd all former Wills by me made In witness
whereof I the said Henry Gurney have hereunto sett my hand and
seale this third day of August in the second yeare of the Reigne
of our soveraigne Lord James the second by the grace of God of
England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith
&c. Annoq[ue] Domini one thousand six hundred eighty six Henry
Gurney sealed and delivered and published by the said Henry Gurney
for his last Will and Testament in the p[re]sence of George Hickman
