Transcript
In the name of the father the sonne and the Holy
Spirit Jahova Elohim Sebatheoth and in the name of Jesus Christ
who is the faithfull witnesse and the first begotten from the Dead
and the prince of the Kings of the Earth being hee that loved us
and washed us from our sinns in his owne blood and hath made us
Kings and Preists unto God and his Father to him bee Glory and
Dominion forever Amen I Stephen Dagnall late of Alesbury in the
County of Buck[ingham] Stationer now of Layton in the County of
Bedford of the same trade and Calling being weake in body but in
sound and perfect memory of mind thankes bee God for it Doe make
constitute and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner
and forme following that is to say First I give and bequeath my
Spirit into the hands of Jesus Christ the glorious King preist
and prophet of our Profession, who hath purified my heart by Faith
on whose name I called when I was baptized in water and I doe beleeve
on his name and I doe beleeve that hee hath baptized mee into the
name of the Father and into the name of the sonne and into the
name of the holy spirit as it is written Acts the eighth and twelfth
the sixteenth and seaventeenth and I beleeve that hee will keepe
mee and that I shall stand before the throne in the last day I
doe Rest in the grace of God and in the grace of the Father and
in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ And I doe love all the true
congregation of God throughout the world and in perticuler those
that walke in the profession of the Faith which they and I have
confessed together Item I will that my debts and funerall charges
bee discharged by my deerely beloved sonne Matthias Dagnall whom
I make constitute and appoint the sole Executor of this my last
will and Testament Item I appoint my sonne and Executor to bury
my Corps close by the Corps of my late deare wife his mother But
if my sonne cannot obtaine it lett mee bee buried according to
the discretion of my deere sonne and Executor Item I give unto
my deare Daughter Elizabeth Bayzon the summe of Tenne shillings
and I give to her husband One shilling and to my deere Daughter
Anna Clarke the summe of Tenne shillings and to her husband one
shilling and to my deere Daughter in law Dorothy Fen Ten shillings
and to her husband one shilling All these legacies to bee paid
a yeare after the solemnizeing my funeralls and I give to my grandsonne
Onissimus Bayzon ten shillings and to Elizabeth Bayzon my granddaughter
tenn shillings and to my granddaughter Mary Bayzon tenn shillings
and to my granddaughter Sarah Bayzon tenn shillings and I give
to my grandsonne Thomas Clarke tenn shillings and to my grandson
Stephen Clarke tenn shillings and to the Child with which my Daughter
Anna Clarke is now with child Tenn shillings and to my granddaughter
Joanna Fenn ten shillings and to my Granddaughter Dorathy Fenn
tenn shillings \and to my Grandson Thomas Fenn Ten shillings/ and
to my granddaughter Susanna Fenn ten shillings these legacies to
bee paid to these my grandchildren as they come respectively to
the age of One and Twenty yeares but if any of them shall happen
to die before they come to age w[hi]ch God defend then the legacies
which they should have received shall bee divided amongst the survivors
by equall parts All the rest of my personall estate goods and chattells
whatsoever I doe give and bequeath unto my deare and loveing
sonne and Executor Matthias Dagnall before named whome I make full
and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I doe
hereby revoke disannull and make void all former wills and Testaments
by mee heretofore made In witnesse whereof I the said Stephen Dagnall
to this my last Will and testam[en]t being conteined in two sheetes
of paper sett my hand to the first and last sheete thereof sett
my seale the twenty third day of January in the yeare of our Lord
One Thousand six hundred eighty and foure. Stephen Dagnall Witnes
hereunto Richard Leach Henriy Millard John Trulove.
Bee it knowne to all men by these presents That whereas
I Stephen Dagnall late of Alesbury in the County of Buck[ingham]
Stationer now of Laiton in the County of Bedford of the same trade
and Calling have made & declared my last Will & Testament in writing
bearing date the twenty third day of January one thousand six hundred
eighty & foure I the said Stephen Dagnall Doe by this present Codicill
confirme and Ratify this my last will and Testament and doe give
to my loveing grandsonne James Fenne all my stocke and workeing
tooles which I have at Laighton in the County of Bedford with this
Reservation that whereas I stand bound in one obligac[i]on with
one John Trulove and James Fenn my sonne in law to one Mr. Rose
of Wing in the County of Buck[ingham] for fifty pounds that my
loveing sonne and Executor Mathias Dagnall shall have power out
of the said stocke and tooles to pay what shall remaine unpaid
of the said Obigac[i]on And my will is that what remaines of my
said stocke and tooles at Laiton after the s[ai]d obligation is
Cancelled paid and fully satisfied shall bee and remaine to the
only use and behoofe of my said grandsonne James Fenn And I doe
father make Reservation that if my grandsonne James Fenn shall
obtaine the estate at Witney and Northmore in the County of Oxford
to which hee is heire that then my stock and workeing tooles at
Laiton shall goe to my Executor and the said Obigac[i]on shall
bee fully satisfied without any part of the said stock and tooles
any thing in this Codicill to the Contrary notwithstanding and
my Will & meaning is that this Codicill or schedule bee and bee
adindged to bee part and parcell of my said last Will and Testament
and that all things herein conteined and menc[i]oned bee faithfully
and fully performed and as fully and amply in every respect as
if the same were soe declared and sett downe in my s[ai]d last
will & Testament In witnesse whereof I have sett to my hand and
seale the twenty third day of January one thousand six hundred
eighty and foure Stephen Dagnall Witness hereunto Richard Leach
