In the Name of God Amen The seaventh day of January
in the yeare of our Lord according to the Accompt now used in England
One thousand six hundred fifty and nine I Issabella Lanston of
Laighton Bussard in the County of Bed[for]d widow the relict of
George Lanston late of the same Towne and County deceased Being
aged and something weake in body But of perfect sence memory and
understanding praised bee Allmighty God therefore And considering
the incertainty of this life doe make and ordaine this my last
Will and Testament in manner following That is to say First and
principally above all other things I yeild upp & resigne my
soule into the hands of Allmighty God hopeing to obtaine Salvac[i]on
by the only merritts of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ And my
body to bee decently Interred att the discrec[i]on of my Executors
hereafter named, And concerninge my worldly estate I dispose of
as followeth I give & bequeath to Joane the now wife of Adam
Quarry of Laighton Bussard aforesaid Twenty shillings of lawfull
money to bee paid unto her within six monethes next after my decease
I give and bequeath to John Taylor and Anne Taylor the late children
of Nicholas Taylor deceased the sume of Twenty shillings a peece
to bee paid unto them within six monethes next after my decease
I give and bequeath to Edward Lanston my Grandsonne the late sonne
of my Sonne Edward Lanston deceased the sume of five pounds of
like money to bee paid unto him within six monethes next after
my decease I give & bequeath unto the two daughters of Thomas
Lanston my late sonne deceased twenty shillings a peece of like
money To bee paid unto them within six monethes next after my decease
I give and bequeath unto Mary Lanston & Elizabeth Lanston the
Children of my sonne George Lanston the sume of twenty shillings
a peece to bee paid unto them within six monethes next after my
decease I give and bequeath to Mary Hebbs my Grandchild the now
wife of Walter Hebbs the sume of twenty shillings of like money
to bee paid unto her within six monethes next after my decease
I alsoe give and bequeath unto the said Mary Hebbs one halfe part
of my Wearing Apparrell And I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth
Bulfield my servant (if shee shall live in the house with mee untill
and att the tyme of my decease) the other halfe part of my Wearing
Apparrell I give and bequeath to my sonne George Lanston twelve
pence of like money to bee paid unto him within six Monethes next
after my decease All of the rest of my goods and chattells together
with all all my lands and Tenements herein not given nor bequeathed
my debts Legacies and funerall expences beinge paid satisfied and
discharged I give and bequeath unto my loving friends Marke Wilkes
of Laighton Bussard aforesaid Gent[leman] and to James Leach of
the same towne yeoman and to their heires and assignes forever,
And I doe make and ordaine them the said Marke Wilkes and James
Leach my full and sole Executors of this my last will to see the
same performed accordinge to the true Intent and meaning, thereof,
And I doe hereby Renounce and make voyde all former Wills by mee
made and doe publish and declare this to bee my last will and testam[en]t
In wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day
& yeare first before written, The marke of Issabella Lanston /
Signed sealed published and declared by the before named Issabella
Lanston to bee her last Will and Testament in the presence of John
Marshe The marke of John Harte./
Whereas I have willed to Joane the \now/ wife of
Adam Quarry, to John Tayler and Anne Tayler the children of Nicholas
Tayler of the Rach deceased the sume of twenty shillings a peece
...on? better Considerac[i]on I hereby doe revoake and recall the
said three legacies only And doe give and bequeath the said three
pounds unto my sonne George Lanston to bee paid to him by my Executors
within named within six monethes next after my decease All the
rest of my will in written last will and testament I doe hereby
farther ratify and confirme Wittnes my hand and seale the Eighteenth
day of Frebruary One thousand six hundred fifty and nyne The marke
of Issabella Lanston widd[ow] In the presence of M Sayre, Fra[nces
or ncis] White.
