In the name of God Amen I Elisabeth Turney of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bed[for]d widdow the relict of William Turney late of Laighton Bussard aforesaid gent[leman] deceased being aged and weake in body but of sound and p[er]fect memory praised bee Allmightie god therefore and knoweing the certentie of death and considereing the uncertentie of the time thereof And for the better avoyding of the temporall cares of this world when it shall please God of his mercie to call me thence And for the disposeinge of that smale talent w[hi]ch god of his mercie hath lent me Revokeinge all former willes I make and ordayne this my p[re]sent last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie god my maker and of his sonne Jesus Christ my blessed saviour and redeemer trusting only thorow his p[re]cious death and meritts to obtayne life eternall And my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently buryed att the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named And concerneing my temporall estate I dispose as followeth Item I give unto the poorer Inhabitants of the towne of Eaton bray in the Countie of Bed[for]d the sume of Forty shillinges to be paid unto them w[i]thin one moneth next after my decease Item I give unto John Crosley the sume of Twentie shillings to be paid w[i]thin one moneth after my decease Item I give unto my kinswoman Elizabeth Bennett the wife of John Bennett my best Coverlid Item I give to a Minister to preach my funerall sermon ten shillinges Item I desire my Executrix that she shall disburse to the value of six pounds the day of my buriall for my funerall expences w[hi]ch I doe dispose of to be expended to that purpose All the rest of my goodes and Chattells whatsoever my debtes and legacyes being paid and p[er]formed and funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath unto my constant and long acquainted freind Mrs Anne Sclater widdowe whome I make sole executrix of this my p[re]sent last will and testament to see my debtes and legacies paid and p[er]formed my funerall expences discharged and my body decently brought to the Earth In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this six and twentieth day of May in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred Fiftie and seaven And declared this to be my last will and Testament .///.
